This is not just a new year, but also a new decade and I think they are important opportunities for us as evolving individuals - if we choose to grab them.
 
Last year the topic of conversation for every business was the recession and the 101 different ways to fight or even worse ignore it … I say if the recession has handed us lemons, then with the help of the recent snow, lets do our best to make chilled lemonade. 
 
It is far better to adapt to a changed environment.  It is far better to evolve.
 
So here’s a way to help you reach new and old customers just by using a bit of creativity and without charging you a penny.   What we are offering is a free inbound link which pushes customers directly to your website when they click on your MusicMing listing.  Instead of charging you, all we ask in exchange is that you do the same by providing us with a link on your website. It’s as simple as that!
 
Inbound links are a very valuable feature that many large directories charge a fair bit for due to their risks in diluting their online search engine optimisation.   Because of MusicMing’s direct relation to music and the industries in and around it, we think that this will present itself as a good thing for everyone involved.

If your not particularly tech savvy yourself, you could always ask your webmaster which should cost you next to nothing and if you ask very nicely he or she probable won’t charge you anything at all.  Once the MusicMing.com link is up on your website notify us and we’ll have a link directing customers to your website up within 24 hours.

The login problems we were experiencing has now been solved.  The email notification failure was due to a few activation emails being directed to the users spam box.

We are working towards ensuring that all emails from MusicMing are sent your inbox safely.  For now, if you can please check your spam to retrieve any possible misdirected activation email notifications.

Unfortunately we are currently experiencing problems with login.

There seems to be a problem with our system being unsuccessful in sending users account activation emails after sign-up.

 We are currently working towards solving the issue and hope to get service back to normal as soon as possible.

 3 easy steps to own your companies listing:

1. Register your username and email address at sign up.
2. Using the 'Who or What' search bar, enter your companies name and search for its listing.
3. If your company is listed then send a request for ownership of your company's listing by clicking on the Contact us link at the top of the page (Please remember to include your username and company's name).  If you cant find it, then just create a new listing (Users must be logged in first).

Note: Once notified we will then transfer the listing over to your account for you to amend at your own leisure.

Tips for creating a new listing:

• Be sure to add a keyword rich description that best describes your company and its services.
• Check that Google Maps is able to find your submitted address in the maps section of your user control panel.
• Make the most out of your Standard Listing and get a FREE link to your website.
• Upgrade to a Premium Priority Listing and appear higher than all basic Standard Listings.

Thank you all for your recent comments and kind words regarding the developments of MusicMing. 

My team and I have been working hard to fill the directory with the relevant contacts and information of the different music based service providers throughout the UK.  It has become an ongoing challenge, but we’re getting there.  Our aim is to provide our users (your customers) with the information they need to develop themselves and/or their career by passing them onto the professionals who know best (you).

Our service is only as good as the content within our system and we want our content to be as rich as possible to make each searching an easier process for all our users.  For this reason we have doubled the space available in the profile descriptions of all free Standard Listings, matching our paid Priority Listings. 

We are constantly trying to find ways that we can offer more for less to ensure you and our users get the best possible service.  We figure the more you like it, the more you’ll use it.  That’s one of the reasons we refuse to charge users to search our directory.  One of the next  targets we’re working towards is to try and provide each listing with a free ULR link from your listing on MusicMing to your website to increase your sales leads and website hits without having to charge you like other directories do… [more on that coming soon].

After a lot sweat and hard work MusicMing is finally here!

What began as a platform to aid the development of young British musicians, has now moulded into a quick and easy to use resource hub listing the essential services across the UK connected directly or indirectly with the UK music industry.

We’ve found that there are many emerging musicians, singer/songwriters and music students who are unaware of the opportunities and services available to them. Many of these ‘emergers’ get bogged down with the stresses of managing the artwork, PR, distribution, web design, gig bookings… (just to name a few). MusicMing is the online one-stop-shop for your music resource needs.

Whether large or small, national or regional, if you have a service you feel could be of value to others within the British music industry we want to know about it and make others aware also. Our plan is for MusicMing to be the place where all music professionals of all levels search and connect with one another… the database is just the start and we need you to be a part of the process.
